Exporting text from an e-learning module

Make sure to create a backup of the project before exporting the text for translation.

Export the e-learning module text into an.xlif file. The.xlif file stores all the data needed for the text in the module to be translated.

Follow these steps and see the image below to export an.xlif file:

Procedure
  1. Open the Elucidat project you want to send for translation.⚓
  2. Click the “Configure” tab.⚓
  3. Click the “Translation” subtab.⚓
  4. Set the “Project language” to “English (United Kingdom)”.⚓
  5. Choose “Everything” under “Translation Export”.⚓
  6. Click “Export XLIFF 1.2 translation file” to export the file.⚓

Warning

This will only export the text you mark with your mouse. Images, videos, infographics, job aids and other resources will not be exported for translation in an .xlif file.
