When you create a video that will be translated, make sure none of the images in the video contain text. If the they contain text, you must be prepared to edit those images in the video when the translation arrives. Moreover, it is bad practice to have text in images because it can distract from the video/voiceover.

Try not to have text on the screen during the parts of a video that contain voiceover. It may make it difficult for the learner to listen and read at the same time. You can import text during a voiceover break, but not while someone is speaking.

When creating a video, leave space at the bottom for subtitles.

Do not include text explanations/annotations in the bottom part of the screen. This area should be reserved for subtitles.

When you are making annotations, keep them short and follow the voiceover text as much as possible. Otherwise, it may be distracting for the learner.

If you want to put the name plates (titles) of a person (e.g. Leonardo Da Vinci, Painter) on the screen, put it in either the top left or top right corner. Leave the bottom part of the screen free for subtitles.

If you use more advanced tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro for creating animations for name plates, please do not use positioning animations. For example, it is easier to edit or import a translation for a name plate that just appears on the screen rather than one that moves from off the screen onto the screen.
