Quality assurance (QA)

Once you have finished creating your course, you should do a final read-through. Check your content to make sure:

  • it meets the criteria set forth in the MSeL checklist

  • it doesn't contain typos, grammatical mistakes, capitalization errors, punctuation errors, bulleting errors, extra spacing etc.

  • all items have been spell-checked (using UK English in MS Word if possible)

  • the language you have used is clear and concise

  • it is consistent in the phrasing of:

    • concepts

    • slide titles

    • tenses

    • instructions

    • buttons

    • activity start and end pages.

  • you have extra space for translation if that is anticipated

  • there are clear instructions on every page (how to open the activity, how to do the activity, how to close the activity, how to proceed, etc.)

  • none of the language/terminology is offensive or constitutes a reputational risk for the ICRC

  • none of the content is plagiarized, improperly referenced or infringes upon any copyrights.

Tip

If possible, ask a colleague and/or potential users to look at it for you to make sure it is clear and understandable.
